20TH CENTURY WALL OF SOUND

STEVE B

Back in 1980 a 17 year old Steve Byrne got his first taste of radio presenting when he got himself a job on pirate station WLR 252 in Waterford Ireland. Presenting two 2 hour shows on Saturday and Sunday evening’s Steve got the radio bug.

Steve had been into music from an early age, whenever there was a school disco he would be the one bringing the records and playing them to his class mates, he secured his first DJ residency at the age of 13, at his local youth club.
After his Ireland stint Steve returned to the UK to set up a mobile disco and the Catch22 Roadshow was born. The mobile disco proved to be a popular venture and locally was one of the biggest mobile discos of the 80's.

Steve has built up a massive record collection of all genres over the past 40 years and has a mind full of musical facts and figures that he loves to share. Steve’s radio show, The 20th Century Wall of Sound, plays music form all genres. The only rules he has is that the music is from the 20th century.

Join Steve every Wednesday evening at 7pm where he plays the music of your life.
